Winter Elopement Styled Shoot in Beautiful Big Sur

Last year one of my goals was to participate in more styled shoots. I wanted to embrace opportunities to work with new vendors, try new things creatively, and add something different to my portfolio.

I love each and every one of my couples and their Wedding Day visions, but sometimes it's nice to do something outside of the norm to get outside of our comfort zones and challenge ourselves, so what better way to end 2023 than with a styled shoot with some rad new friendors?! (Those are vendors who are friends 🤗)

Now let's talk about the couple who inspired it all... Walmer plays for our local USL team Monterey Bay FC (checkout the team roster and see the headshots I helped capture for their 2024 season!) and his connection with his wife, Cassie, stood out to me. The way he posts / talks about her on social media, they are best friends and he is so madly in love with her. But like...can you blame him?! She's absolutely stunning on the outside and she's even more fantastic on the inside. She's intelligent, strong, talented, all while also being gentle and kind.

They got married last year in a beautiful church wedding and I loved seeing him post their pictures and memories from that day. Every single one of them was about how much he loves and admires her. After awhile, I got this vision in my head of a 50s-inspired Big Sur Elopement, complete with a vintage car from Monterey Touring Vehicles. I pictured her with delicate, structured waves in her hair, a short, non-traditional dress, and for him I wanted a non-traditional, more casual look.

I pitched the idea to them and they were both in! So me and my good friend Jennifer Cheifetz got to planning right away to create this awesome concept neither of us have seen done before here.

From The Cliffs of Big Sur to Dinner at In-N-Out

We combined our connections to bring you the most wonderful group of vendors who brought this vision to life. From Stationary by Lucky Orchid Design, to this gorgeous bridal dress from Epiphany Bridal Boutique, to this absolutely rad 1965 Ford Shelby Cobra Tribute from Monterey Touring Vehicles (I know this was a 50s-Inspired styled shoot but that's the beauty of an "inspired" shoot, you can adjust elements and it's ok if everything is exactly from the 50s!), to custom cookies from Dough_Pete that incorporated elements of the Big Sur Elopement as well as our very tasty dinner at In-N-Out Burger.
