From San Francisco Bay to Big Sur
Martin couldn't wait to propose to Najella in Big Sur, a place that holds a special place in their relationship. Originally, he wanted to propose at Limekiln but with the roads down, that meant we'd have to travel down Hwy 101 to San Luis Obispo, then back up to Big Sur to get to his desired location. Since they were coming from the Bay Area, that created a huge logistical issue and with Martin wanting to keep it somewhat of a surprise (he knew she'd have an inkling), we chose a Big Sur location on this side of the downed road (which is now open by the way!) and it ended up being such a gorgeous evening.
Proposal on the Big Sur Cliffs
We worked hard to find a location that fit what Martin was envisioning for this big moment. He wanted it to look similar to Limekiln and wanted a combination of a gorgeous backdrop with access to the beach, so we decided on this stunning location.
Everything was perfect, besides some strong Big Sur winds (Big Sur does what Big Sur wants and this day she was being a little dramatic but we love all sides of her). They arrived at the location, took a minute to take in the gorgeous views, then Martin got down on one knee and popped the question. Najella said an enthusiastic YES (obviously)!
For proposals, once we've captured the big moment and said our congratulations, I like to give my couples some time alone to sit in the moment and soak it all in. Once they're ready, I let them signal me over so we can continue on to the Engagement Session part of their day.
Calla Lilies, a Warm Sunset, and Champagne Shower
These two love birds ran all around the cliffs of Big Sur, meandered through the calla lilies, splashed their feet in the water, shared lots of laughs and sweet kisses, popped a bottle of champagne to fully celebrate this new chapter in their love story. Then Martin whisked Najella off to a romantic dinner to keep the celebrations going.
